Advanced to intermediate skilled surfers enjoy using them as these boards are really fast even in the slower breaking waves, giving the surfer a different feeling all together, a different feeling from even a shortboard. The wider area of the Fish surfboard makes it easier for people to paddle with their hands through the water and even easier to catch the waves. However the disadvantages to having these features are that these boards do not perform well at the top or in the steep or the hollow waves. The thicker and wider fish is good option for a learning surfer who is less than 130 pounds. A disadvantage that most experienced surfers have with the Fish Surf board is that they cannot make radical changes in direction when they are riding hollow and quicker waves. The Fish Surfboard is however a fun and interesting alternative when compared to the garden variety shortboard. The two main types of Fish Surf boards are the Pivot Fish and the Flying Fish. The Pivot Fish is so called because of the quick pivot like turns that you get on the surfboard instead of it going from rail to rail. This board is known to be wide stable and fast. The curve of the sides is a little gentle given it less resistance in water. The Flying Fish is wide stable and fast too but not as fast as the Pivot Fish because this one in wider and the curves on the sides are more prominent. This is however better than the Pivot Fish where catching waves are concerned. The Fish Surfboard is therefore a unique variety with a little more sculpture. One thing is for certain with this surfboard and that once you start using it, it will begin to grow on you. |

They say if you have it, then you ought to flaunt it. So for all your surfing champions who are looking not only for the big waves but also for the competitions, then here is a list for you to ponder on when you sit on your board waiting to catch a wave.
